How about a throw back to my crazy bright 27th Lisa Frank Rainbow Birthday Party?
I’m currently two months away from my 30th birthday. Who knows if we’ll be back to throwing parties by then. (Here’s hoping! I’ve got my Pinterest boards ready, if we get the all clear soon!)
Either way, my 30th is going to have a hard time competing with my 27th. Oh yes, for my 27th birthday I threw myself the brightest Lisa Frank, Rainbow Inspired Bash ever! It was the party I dreamed of back in my high school days… well, except with a signature cocktail!
I hosted the party in the first studio I had for my wedding & floral design business. It was the prettiest sun-soaked spot with crisp white walls and windows all around; the perfect blank canvas for a color explosion.
I decked it out with over-the-top flowers and a huge rainbow streamer installation swooping across the whole ceiling. It was straight up magical (and actually pretty cost effective!)
For sips & bites, I found a signature Birthday Cake Cocktail and brought in my friends The Cottonsmith and Crumb & Kettle for a cotton candy cart and a beautiful, Millenial-Pink cake! The cotton candy was so much fun with flavors like Watermelon and Champagne! Talk about a sugar rush!
I made sure to keep every one having fun with a Tattoo Bar, photo backdrop, and DIY Balloon Crowns.
A Temporary Tattoo Bar is such a blast and so easy to put together. I found tons of colorful, quirky temporary tattoos on Etsy and placed them on a pretty tray. I also laid out some washcloths and little spray bottle of water to make application easy (and clean!) Lastly, I added a little printable with instructions in a white frame and let my guests loose! The extra tattoos even made fun party favors!
The wardrobe was also a fun way I got guests involved! On the invitation, I encouraged my girlfriends to dress as colorfully as possible. Honestly, they know me well, so it sure wasn’t a surprise request!
As for me, I chose a sassy white dress and a shimmering crystal crown to pop against my lavender hair. Oh man, sometimes I really miss having crazy-colored hair and then I think of the time, money, and dryness and bite my tongue! But I love looking back at it! My talented makeup artist friend, Erika, even crimped it for me!
It was such a fun day and I can’t believe I’ll be turning 30 in just a couple of months. What should the theme for that party be?!
